The X18 Pocket Bike - Reseller Lies
86Certain Companies Lie About the X18
By: SuperPocketBikesX18.com
Let's get into the details of the X18 Super Pocket Bike. If you ever went shopping for one, you would have most likely have seen many online resellers say many different things about their X18's from declaring it a whole new revamped model to saying it comes stock with performance aftermarket parts. In reality, they are lies. How is it possible that a 600 dollar super pocket bike has a $300 aftermarket tailpipe? Take a popular pocket bike site, Mini Pocket Rockets. They call their X18 Super Pocket Bike the "X18-R Nitro". What's an "R-Nitro"? Well according to them, it is:
" (Race Edition) ... powered by a newly retuned and tweaked Honda®-Based 110cc 4-Stroke Engine...fully assembled and ready to ride. All upgrades and performance parts are OEM factory installed and tuned for maximum gains and reliability... With numerous Race-prepared modifications performed to the engine and powertrain."
Hmm... well they are right on some things, but mostly wrong. The X18 does have a Honda based 110cc 4-Stroke engine, however is it newly retuned and tweaked? I do not think so. The 4-Stroke engine model for the X18 is the same 110cc OHC engine design used in the 1972 Honda CT70. 1972 was over 30 years ago and the engine design is still used till this day, but that doesn't mean the engine is bad. It is just not new like what Mini Pocket Rockets say to deceive it's customers. The 110cc OHC is still a reliable engine nevertheless. It is still used today because its reliable, easy to maintain, and quite frankly, cheap to manufacture. The X18's 110cc engine comes from a company known as Lifan, a larger automotive manufacturer in China. Lifan confirmed that it's engines are made with tooling that was purchased and set up under contract with Honda. Seriously, if you were to compare Honda's engines and hte Chinese clones side by side, they are identical with the exception of the HONDA logo printed on the side and the hefty price tag.
Let's look back again at what Mini Pocket Rockets said:
" (Race Edition) ... powered by a newly retuned and tweaked Honda®-Based 110cc 4-Stroke Engine...fully assembled and ready to ride. All upgrades and performance parts are OEM factory installed and tuned for maximum gains and reliability... With numerous Race-prepared modifications performed to the engine and powertrain."
Ahh yes, don't you just love how they hype up the bike? The X18's engine is not racing nor performance tuned. It's thrown together by minimum paid workers in the world's most populated country as fast as quality assurance will allow it. Than it's packaged into cargo ships by the thousands and imported into the United States. Take this from a X18 Super Pocket online reseller and rider, there is nothing tuned about it. If you want a real racing tuned super pocket bike, you will have to do it yourself with aftermarket crankshafts, big-bore kits, and carburetors. It can be done as well; there are quite a number of pocket bike enthusiasts rocking some pretty sick bikes reaching speeds higher than 80 mph.
Now to pick apart the last of Mini Pocket Rocket's lies. What about the "performance parts"? I'll make it easy for everyone and answer with a simple: there are none. Mini Pocket Rockets and many other companies are just BS'ing a marketing of people who just don't know any better (now they do). Every single X18 Super Pocket Bike that enter the United States are exactly the same no matter which website you buy it from with the exceptions of model changes ( in which the manufacturer alter minor things such as the battery type, paint scheme, etc. but nothing really performance wise). So if you have a friend who's up in your face with their "X18-R Nitro" saying it is faster. Ask them to show you his or her performance parts and compare them with your non "X18-R Nitro" edition. See who has the last laugh after that.
(as a quick note, during the winter of 2006, two containers of X18 Super Pocket Bikes arrived into the US with a larger counter sprocket installed on the bike than the rest of the models. This bike has less accerlation but a higher top speed compared to other X18 super pocket bikes. But again, this is a manufacturer default.)

LOL! You're obviously talking about minipocketrockets.com. So what if they're hyping up their bikes. They're selling the X18-Nitro for $579.00, $30.99 cheaper than SPBX18.com who's selling the EXACT same bike, the X18-Bravo for $609.99. If SPBX18.com is so great and cares about their customers so much, why the hell are they selling their bikes at a higher price if it's the same damn bike anyway? Don't be ignorant and listen to someone who has a biased opinion. Do the research yourself and find the best price and best customer service out there. WHO'S YOUR DADDY SPBX18???
Awesome hub! Sounds great.

Uhm this post is right! Don't trust any of the sites listed or any pocket bikes made from China. I bought a mini pocket bike from Usapocketbike.com & another mini pocket bike from minipocketrocket.com (why? Cause I bought each for my kids, but not trusting any sites I tried 2 & see if I could atleast get 1 pocketbike without getting scammed). I ended up getting both pocketbikes. 3-5 weeks later I had to go repair the bikes and the repair cost more than both bikes combined! So I am just warning all buyers to no buy pocketbikes. Your better off with dirtbikes. ALSO! Pocketbikes is pretty much illegal everywhere. Unless your in a parking lot. Your neighbor or some other "safe" place
